Daniel Murphy, who earned his M.B.A. with a concentration in strategic management from UNT, has spent years at Fortune 500 companies — including Ulta, The Home Depot and UPS — leading large, cross-functional warehouse teams in fast-paced and high-pressure environments. Throughout his career, Murphy has made it a point to challenge the status quo when the best interests of his stakeholders were jeopardized. Standing up for what’s right, he says, is rarely easy, but is essential to the health and success of any organization, whether a family, business or nation. He currently heads fulfillment operations for the venture capital-backed startup Saltbox, where speaking truth to power is a growing part of the organization’s DNA.
